Fun With Books–Diary

What would happen if the Protagonist in your favorite book found the antagonist’s diary and read it? Would it change anything? Would they see the antagonist differently? Would it change how they reacted to the antagonist?

I’m using Star Wars. I know everybody thinks of it as a movie, but every movie has been adapted into a book, and there are way more books than movies anyhow. So, what if Luke had found his father’s diary from before he became Darth Vader? I think Luke would be even more anxious to try and redeem Darth Vader. I think he would have had an even better understanding of how to do so. He may have also had extra insights as far as the Emperor went. I’m not sure it would have changed the overall outcome a lot, but it might have altered how it got there a little.
