If Aviandria Were a Musical–We’ll Get Him Out!
It is snowing, snowing, snowing here today. Thank goodness I don’t have anywhere I need to be. With weather like this, it seems like the perfect time for a good musical. While I can’t give you a full musical, I can give you a little bit more of Aviandria: The Musical. It’s been a while since I did one of these songs. I actually lost the notebook I had them all planned out in for a while.
This song takes place just after Dillyn has been captured by some city guards, and since he’s an outlaw and all that, it’s a bit of a problem. Alvorach and the others are away on a supply pick-up, so Ashlynn and Alder are on their own to help him.
We’ll Get Him Out!
Ashlynn (To Dillyn’s mother): Please don’t panic.
It’s not your fault.
I’ll go find Alder.
We’ll get him out.
(Musical interlude while Ashlynn leaves the house)
Ashlynn: How could this happen?
Things were going so well.
Just like in the stories
That he loves to tell.
But I guess in good stories,
Things often go wrong.
It’s what makes a hero.
It’s what moves them along.
So, if this is a story,
Like what I’ve read about,
We’ll make a happy ending.
We’ll get Dillyn out.
(Some Dialogue while Ashlynn tells Alder.)
Alder: I was afraid this would happen.
I should have gone too.
Ashlynn: If you had gone with him,
Then they’d have you too.
I need you to help me.
We’ll think of a plan.
We’re going to save him.
We won’t lose a man.
Alder: We need more to go on,
Like what they have in mind.
Ashlynn: I’ll go to the city
And see what I can find.
(Orchestral interlude showing time transition)
Ashlynn: The’ll move him tomorrow.
Alder: We’ve got to move fast.
We have a chance now.
It might be our last.
Still, it won’t be easy,
With only us two.
We need one more person.
Ashlynn: But we’ll have to do.
We can’t just give up now.
There’s no time to pout.
Together: We’ll do what it takes then,
And we’ll get him out!
