Spring Fever! Do you have it too?
I don’t know about you, but around where I live, spring is in the air! Of course, winter will probably have a few more tantrums on its way out. It usually does, but by this time, it is usually more spring than winter. For me, one thing that always comes with spring is spring fever.
The Internet told me the definition of spring fever is: “a feeling of restlessness or excitement felt at the beginning of spring.” And that is a good definition. I always get the drive to do things, especially outside, in the spring. I crave the sunshine while it isn’t the kind that makes you sweat and wish you could dump a bucket of ice over your head. I crave seeing things grow. It’s my favorite time of the year for so many reasons.
Anyhow, if you have spring fever like I do, here are some ideas of things you can do to scratch that spring feverie itch.
- Plant something. Get a pot of dirt and some seeds (you pick what kind) and plant something. Maybe make yourself a little herb garden. Or some flowers. Or maybe some veggies. The choice is yours.
- Go on a springtime scavenger hunt. Find the first flowers of spring. See if you can spot fuzzy pussywillows. Try to see if the summber birds have returned from their winter vacation. Look for any baby animals that might be around.
- Make Alder’s Early Spring Salad. You can find instructions here.
- Do some spring cleaning. Get your space feeling fresh by using the extra energy spring brings to clean it up.
- Read a good book outside in the sun. You might have to dress for cool weather still, but it just feels good to be able to do something outside.
Spring is here! It’s time to give in to your spring fever and do something to celebrate.
