Thankful for Sunrises and So Much More

I know it’s past Thanksgiving, and around here stating the things you are thankful for around this season gets really cliche. That’s why I wasn’t planning on going this direction, but this morning I happened to glance out the window, and I saw the backyard bathed in a rose-gold light. It had such a surreal feeling that I had to go to the front of the house since that is the side that faces east, so I could see what was happening in that direction. As I opened the window, it nearly took my breath away. I saw one of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen in a long time.

Actually, it is probably the first sunrise I have seen in a while. I am frequently up before the sun, but I’m usually so busy dealing with morning tasks and life that I forget to stop and look. But the clouds were just perfect to go with the lighting, and the mountains just worked so well with it. It was so striking I had to grab my phone and take a fast picture. I’m very far from a professional photographer, and usually, my pictures don’t turn out that well, but this one actually worked.

So today, I’m not going to write a long lecture on anything. I just wanted to share this beautiful sight with you, and say that I’m grateful for sunrises, new beginnings, and the chances when I’m actually able to see and recognize how beautiful they are.

What does a beautiful sunrise mean to you?
