Ask the Author–If you could spend the day with any other famous author, who would it be?

I think I need to change this question a bit. It says “any OTHER famous author.” I can’t exactly say I’m famous, so I can’t exactly say other. So I could amend the question in a couple of ways. I could either change it to say “If you could spend the day with any famous author, who would it be?” or “If you could spend the day with any other author, who would it be?” The answers would be different for both of those questions, so maybe I’ll answer both of them.

First, I’ll answer “If you could spend a day with any author, who would it be?” That answer isn’t very hard for me, because I would probably choose to spend the day with my mom. She’s an author too, and although she’s better known than I am, she isn’t super famous yet. I know it sounds a little corny, but we have fun together and get along. I wouldn’t get nervous or tongue-tied and not know what to talk about. It would be great.

The next version of the question would be harder. If I had to choose a famous author, it would probably depend greatly. First off, it would depend if it had to be an author who was currently alive. I like a lot of authors who are dead, so I would have to time travel to spend a day with them. But if that were a thing and I could travel back in time or bring them forward in time, I have always thought I might get along with Louisa May Alcott. Also, possibly LM Montgomery. I don’t know much about her as a person, but I think I really would have gotten along with Anne, and she created Anne, so that seems a good omen.

If the author has to be both famous and alive, I’m not a hundred percent sure. The thought of spending that much time with anybody like that scares me a bit. I think I’d be far too star-struck, and I wouldn’t know what to say, and it would get really awkward really fast. I guess, if I didn’t have to worry about that, I think I might get along okay with Brandon Sanderson. He seems like a pretty cool guy. Also, despite all the controversy, I think it would be interesting to talk to JK Rowling because, besides my mom, she probably was the person that made me want to be an author the most.

What about you? What author, famous, dead, or otherwise, would you like to spend a day with?
