It’s Finally Here! Presenting: Keys of Aviandria.

I know you’re probably getting a bit sick of all this talk of my next book by now. I’ve only been mentioning it nearly every week for at least the last month or more. However, you won’t have to endure much longer, because it’s finally here! Instead of just hearing about it, you can actually read it! You can find it on Amazon right here. Just in case you are still trying to decide whether it is for you or not, I’ll put a description and a short little excerpt from the book. Hopefully, that will help you decide.

Balancing life between two worlds isn’t easy. Ashlynn knows this as well as anyone, but she is starting to get pretty good at it. However, when her two best friends in all of Aviandria disappear, she begins to realize just how complicated it can be. When she makes it her personal mission to find her friends, she expects it to be dangerous. What she doesn’t expect is that it will bring her face to face with an enemy she had believed was gone for good, and who holds a secret that could threaten both the worlds she loves. Can Ashlynn protect both worlds and still ensure the safety of her friends?

A story full of adventure, friendship, loyalty, and finding unity despite differences.

Excerpt from Keys of Aviandria

I started visibly as a rat ran across the street in front of me and my heart quickened its pace. My feet had involuntarily stopped moving for a moment, and I took the opportunity to look around. I didn’t like what I saw. The street looked entirely unfamiliar. The building’s roofs were sagging, and the wood was gray with age, weather, and neglect. Even though that fit the description of where our stable was, I was quite certain I had not been down this street before.

In trying to fit in, it was nearly impossible to pay as much attention to where I was going. It had been hard to learn the routes without examining the surroundings carefully, which would have made it obvious we were new to the place. Because of this, I had gotten slightly lost several times the first few days. I had learned the basic route quickly enough, however, and hadn’t worried too much about it. Now, though, I had been trying different places, so the route I had to take back was not as familiar. I feared I had taken a wrong turn, and I wasn’t sure how far back it had been. I could try to keep going and find a way back to a familiar area, but the streets of Moriandon were in no particular pattern and could turn into a perfect maze. I was afraid my only choice was to backtrack.

The heavy clouds finally seemed to tire of their load and a drizzle of rain began to fall. It was only a few minutes before the drizzle turned into a steady downpour, quickly soaking through my thin dress. I would be all too happy to be able to get back to our stables and change into something dry, though I didn’t know if the stable itself would be all that much drier.

My steps slowed as I got to a point where several streets merged. It was nearly completely dark now, and this, along with the rain, changed the appearance of the streets beyond recognition. I paused. I had no idea which street I had come down, or which street would take me closer to home. I tried to choose one that lead in the direction I figured the central marketplace was and prayed it would be right. The rain and darkness had left the streets virtually deserted, adding to the creepy atmosphere. I found myself wishing desperately for a dark cloak that could make me next to invisible within the shadows.

A deeper shadow loomed in front of me and I screamed. I turned to run the opposite direction, but a hand reached out and caught the sleeve of my dress. I heard a tear where the stress was too much for the thin fabric. I was afraid the entire sleeve of my dress might tear off, but it held. Unfortunately, so did the grip of the man who had caught me.

“Well, what do we have here?” The solid shadow spoke. My breath caught and my blood played the legendary freezing trick. I knew that voice.

To be continued in the book if you buy it…
