Petite Project–Painted Rocks

There’s nothing quite like a summer art/craft project, and this one is one that can be as easy and fast as you want it. Or, if you have lots of time to fill, you can expand it and make it fill a good part of a day.

I can’t take credit for these rocks. Someone else painted them. I don’t know who it was, or I’d totally give them credit.

Gather some rocks (from a place it is okay to take rocks. Stealing them from your neighbor’s rock garden probably isn’t a good plan). They probably should be able to fit in the palm of your hand, but not so tiny that they are just gravel. I think smooth ones are the most fun, but they could have angles and corners too. Then, use paints (acrylic paint works well for this) and paint them any way you want. You could turn some into ladybugs. You could paint little pictures or positive words on them. Just make them look fun. Then, you can use them to decorate your garden, give some to a friend, or leave them in fun little places to bring a smile to someone who might spot them while walking past.

What would/will you paint on your rock?
