If Aviandria Were a Musical– She’s Beautiful

Okay, so I’ve once again managed to come up with another song for the imaginary “Aviandria the Musical.” This one fits in with the Valentine theme, I guess, since it is slightly romantic in nature. It kind of shows a bit of Alder that the book doesn’t show as much since the book is from Ashlynn’s point of view, and she is rather oblivious to this at the time. Anyhow, it starts out with Ashlynn talking (or rather singing) about Gwen, the roc she has just rescued from the Traders.

She’s Beautiful

She’s Beautiful!

The way her feathers glisten in the sun.

She’s Beautiful.

And even though our time together’s just begun

I know we’ll get along together.

I See it in her eyes.

And maybe if she’ll let me

We’ll go flying through the sky.

Who’d have ever thought that I would ever get this chance

To be with one who’d carry me as through the clouds we dance

(Some sort of time passing segment. Maybe a bit of dialogue)

She’s beautiful

And since we’ve flown together now I know

She’s beautiful

I love her more each time up to the skies we go.

I know the freedom of the wind now

As it blows through my hair

Rising above the forest

As her great wings cut the air.

There’s no doubt about it we are meant to be this way.

My roc and I together. I don’t care what people say.

She’s beautiful.

Alder: (Aside to himself where other characters can’t hear, talking about Ashlynn)

She’s beautiful.

When was it I began to feel this way?

She’s beautiful.

And yet I know that she was never meant to stay.

Right now is not the time to feel this

There’s a lot of reasons why.

I pretend she’s just a friend,

But it’s really just a lie.

I can’t let my feelings show for her sake and for mine.

She has a life back in her home. Without me, she’ll be fine.

But… She’s beautiful

So, it doesn’t end on a perfectly cheerful note, but it’s still kind of romantic, right?

When you like somebody, do you let them know, or do you hide it like Alder?
