Fun With Books–Kidnapped By Pirates

The main character in the book you are reading (or just read) was kidnapped by pirates. What would they do?

The book I have been reading (or actually listening to, but I’m going to count that one) is Brandon Sanderson’s Words of Radiance. It’s the second book in The Stormlight Archive, a series I really, really like so far. (I’ve listened to all the available ones at least two or three times now.) The hard part about this, is that I’m not sure there is really one main character. Each book highlights one person a little, but it switches between several characters, and each have an equally important role. So, in Words of Radiance, it highlights Shallan, so I’ll use her. If she were kidnapped by pirates, she would use her lightweaving and soulcasting capabilities to escape, like creating an illusion to distract the pirates, and then soulcast something like a boat to escape in. Maybe, since she’s not very good at soulcasting yet, she would have to use her lightweaving to convince them she had escaped and then stay hidden until they reached a port she could sneak off. (And I am sorry if I misspelled anything. It’s a hazard of listening to books rather than reading them, and having names and terms a spell-checker won’t recognize.)
