More About Aviandria–What is Trade Like in Aviandria

Spring is here. SPRING IS FINALLY HERE. At least more days are nice than not. It took forever this year. But anyhow, now I have spring fever and it is hard to get anything done. But I’m doing this, so I’ll count it as a win. I’ll make this post not too long since it isn’t the most thrilling of topics (unless you happen to be a merchant or something interested in doing business in or around Aviandria). Here is what is planned for today: Trade in Aviandria.

Not exactly Aviandrian, but a market, nevertheless

Okay, trade is never simple exactly, but we’ll make this as simple as we can here. Aviandria is a great place for trade. They have made it a point to keep it easy for people from all over Aviandria, as well as from other places around Aviandria to do trade in the kingdom. As a result, it has a very active economy, and a lot of variety available. Though not a comprehensive list by any means, here are some of the more common things that are imported and exported.

Exports:

  • Olive oil, or other olive-related products
  • Citrus, like oranges and lemons
  • Wine
  • Purple dye from murex shells
  • Silver, gold, and iron from mines in the mountains
  • Timber

Imports:

  • Copper, topaz, opal, turquoise, and saleratus (less refined baking powder) from Slievachnyd
  • bananas, rice, and silk, as well as some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove from Aielghorythia
  • Corn, sugar beets, diamonds, and other valuable gems from Draconland

There is plenty of trade between regions of Aviandria too. For example, northeast Aviandria grows a bulk of the wheat, while the southern part will send up many of its resources like olives and grapes. All in all, Aviandria has enough trade partners from enough different places, so you can find almost anything you might need, and even a lot of what you would want. Some of it might come with a bit of a higher price, but if you have enough, you are pretty set.

What type of things would you hope to find in Aviandria?
